SYMPTOMS OF
A TYPICAL BEDWETTER
- The bedwetter is a very deep sleeper!
Most bedwetters can not remember the nighttime wetting incidents in
the morning.
- Bedwetting is due to a sleep disorder
which is usually inherited. You will almost always find a family
member who has experienced bedwetting, sleepwalking or had night terrors.
This sleep disorder can manifest itself in any or all of these symptoms.
- Many bedwetters daydream or have problems
with focus and concentration.
- Bedwetters usually wake up slowly in
the morning and may be grumpy and irritable.
- Almost all bedwetters have had some
daytime problems. Some examples of these problems are: an inability
to "hold it", a need to urinate often, leaking and accidents.
- Bedwetters wet the bed more than 6
times per year.
- Many bedwetters exhibit signs of ADD/ADHD
- Lots of bedwetters snore and grind
their teeth.
If you or your loved one can identify with any of these symptoms, the bedwetter in your family is very typical and can be treated and helped with our Treatment KIT for bedwetting.
Bedwetting
affects an estimated 15 - 20 million people including about 2 million
adults, however, there are many misconceptions about it.
MYTHS ABOUT BEDWETTING
Myth #1: The bedwetter will outgrow the problem!
Fact: Bedwetting is caused by a sleep disorder and is usually genetic. Although some bedwetters will outgrow the bedwetting, millions do not, and they suffer for years. Unfortunately, most will not outgrow the sleep disorder.
Myth #2: Prescribed drugs will end the bedwetting!
Fact: Drugs may help temporarily, but they tend to be ineffective as a permanent remedy because they affect the symptoms and not the cause of the bedwetting.
Myth #3: Bedwetting is caused by an immature bladder!
Fact: It's actually the opposite. The immature bladder comes from not being able to hold the urine at night.
Myth #4: The bedwetter drinks too much before bedtime!
Fact: It is because the brain can not wake up that one wets the bed, not because of the amount of fluid. Emptying the bladder during the night is counter productive because it does not allow the bladder to stretch to it's fullest capacity.
Myth #5: Bedwetting is caused by emotional or psychological problems!
Fact: There is no known psychological or emotional reason for bedwetting. However, bedwetting often creates self-esteem issues and emotional problems.
Myth #6: The bedwetter is lazy!
Fact: Bedwetting is not within the bedwetter's control. Bedwetters simply can not wake up.
Myth #7: Certain foods cause bedwetting!
Fact: Diet rarely has a bearing on the sleep disorder and therefore, diet most likely does not cause the bedwetting.
Myth #8: Bedwetting is brought on by poor parenting or toilet training mistakes!
Fact: Ridiculous. Once again, the bedwetting is the result of an inherited sleep disorder.
With so much misinformation out there, it's no wonder so many ineffective, if not downright damaging methods are still being used.
